How Haute Design Began
I began Haute Design on a whim, in part by the persuasion of a loved one, in part by the feverish idea that I might "try it out", anticipating that it would not be for me... "trying it out", so to speak, turned into a great deal more—a fun place in which I could catalog and share my recent findings, ideas and thoughts. (based around design, naturally) From a very young age, I collected magazine clippings, antiques and pretty things—I am happy to be able to share some of them, as well as present findings...
The name, Haute Design, was built from two separate words: "Haute" meaning elegant or refering to something as "highly" —ie. highly stylish—in French, to reflect my French heritage, plus "Design" in which describes the base of all that I would share within these pages... Over the past two years, Haute Design has received a great deal of recognition —being featured on numerous blogs, websites, magazines and newspapers. Many fun guest posts have been created, giveaways have been given, new friendships have been formed, and awards have been received. I am grateful each day for the opportunity to share in a world that appreciates beauty.
Haute Design References
You will notice that are many references to "library" throughout this blog. My inspiration began with sharing and spending countless hours enjoying books and magazines with my Mother as a child. Our home library still remains to be a wonderful haven of exploration, discovery and fun. Haute Design is my online library.
