Hotel: Maison D’Ulysse

A hotel for instant relaxation.

The Maison d’Ulysse: a historic farmhouse, located in the South of France, and dates far back to the 17th century. Heading far back, we discover that the original orner, Ulysse Dumas was both, ironically, an archaeologist and poet—perhaps lending to the immeasurable beauty of this divine hotel. Today, and since its beginnings, the farmhouse has been carefully restored, with great respect for its beauty—without compromising authenticity. And while the ancient trees and shrubs, gardens and outdoor areas may be just as inviting as the lovely interior, we immerse ourselves in the perfect balance of its humble walls and grand comforts, and the thought that it might just be the most perfect escape…

Design: Vanitas

A lovely example of simple, beautiful design.

Despite some belief, producing a design (or several, in this lovely case) that is rather seemingly simple and yet polished, complete and well considered is not as simple as it may seem. And while taking a moment to enjoy, doesn't the design have such a beauty about it, particularly in the intricacies of the fabric?

Style: Hand Painted Fashion

A special limited edition linen top.

"The beautiful Wild, Natural, Free fabric is by the textile designer and illustrator Lena Corwin. Lena lives in Brooklyn where she designs patterns, draws illustrations, writes and publishes books, and teaches classes. When designing the fabric, Lena was inspired by open space, wild flowers, and wind. We got into this simple Smock design about a year ago and find we wear it all of the time! It's a very versatile top. The linen will only get better with gentle wash and wear. We printed only 85 yards of this gorgeous fabric. Because the design runs around 60 x 60 cm, and each piece is hand-cut from continuous yardage, the pattern falls uniquely on each smock. Not every smock has all of the flowers in Lena's design, but each one is very beautiful." … indeed they are…

Interior: A Spanish Summer Home

A home full of charm and endearment.

This lovely summer home is located in the Costa Brava, Spain, and is the home and atelier of Pepa Poch—a Spanish painter and sculpture. I warn you, though, beyond its desirable furnishings, incredible art works and gentle touches of nature, perhaps one of the most stunning features to take note of is the flooring. Let's take a look inside…
