Hotel: Monaci delle Terre Nere

A warm boutique hotel in Sicily, Italy.

This hotel instantly caught my attention if only for the fact that it does not appear to be a hotel. The washed walls in moody tones, beautiful wood floors and old, old stone, mixed with more contemporary lines and antiques create such a welcoming look and feel. Not quite a bed & breakfast, though certainly not a large hotel, Monaci delle Terre Nere would be such a welcomed return after a day of site seeing and travel, don't you agree?

Wishes: Happy Anniversary!

Hello, friends! I hope that you are all enjoying a very lovely week so far. As you might have already seen on {this is glamorous}, last week marked our one-year anniversary of the Take Me Away column! We have enjoyed a number of tips and adventures, near and far, and have explored many exciting and wondrous places over the past year… Roséline's editing, additions and notations, and beautiful image compilations have made these places come to life, and have inspired us to delight, enjoy and to travel beautifully.

I cannot tell you just how much I appreciate all of the comments, thoughtful suggestions, and fun links that you've left along the way. I very much look forward to sharing more wonderful destinations!

Product: An Autumn Chalkboard

A rustic chalkboard from Olive Manna.

A unique, natural chalkboard that has been cut, sanded, and painted within the U.S.A. Perfect for sweet notes, or little reminders, drawings, what have you… I adore the note that they have displayed in the first image—and something I might very well do this weekend! I would love to know what you would do with one or a few of them!

Interior: A Light of Whimsy

A whimsical light takes centre stage.

In a space of simple furnishings… wrinkled slipcovered linen sofas and soft cushions, warm wood flooring, industrial flair and dainty details on the ceiling, a whimsical light takes centre stage… surprising and delighting, creating the perfect balance of industrial and elegant. Without it, would the room be nearly as beautiful?

Style: MH Cibeles

Tones of pure drama.

Hope you are all having a lovely week so far! It has been quite the bustling week, that I am not exactly sure how we've arrived to Friday already. Things have been wonderfully busy, and will perhaps become more so in the next few weeks. It is important to always take a few minutes each day to truly relax, unwind, and escape. And so, if you would like to stop by, this week's Take Me Away article on {this is glamorous} travels through Germany, as we discover the wondrous and majestic castles throughout the country…

Interior: An Anomalous Office

A unique and unexpected workspace.

To me, the workspace is everything, and relates entirely to productivity and creativity. Surrounded by magazine and books, photographs and a variety inspiration, I find my mind opens to ideas and possibilities. This workspace—with its eclectic and unusual mix of furnishings, angles, layers and textures makes me wonder about the person who designed the space, and more so, the person who uses the space. Judging from the fabric rolls, sampling and books, I am guessing an interior decorator—and you? What are your thoughts on this workspace?

Designer: Deco

Fall/Winter 2012 collection, by Deco.

The dramatic lines and bold statements of the season (and in particular, of this collection by Deco) make me long to take a shopping trip and fill my wardrobe with more luxurious layers of the season and even cooler season yet to come. Dainty gold detailing, bold blues, rich reds, and ruffled backs have made for a strong collection of pieces—pieces that make a statement and would be lovely to wear… what are your thoughts on the collection?
