Designer: Noa Noa

Noa Noa High Summer 2012 collection.

Good afternoon! I hope that your weekend is shaping up to be lovely so far. Though their Spring collection was quite pretty, with the hope of sunshine and lighter days, this lookbook seems to fully embrace Summer living—with plenty of ease and relaxation. We such a subtler tone in the first two images—quite romantic and vintage, don't you find? And as well trail down, we see a fresh and soft collection to want. Continue reading…

Interior: Studio Workspace

A clean space with plenty of room for work.

I have always been in favour of light and bright spaces for working environments, particularly as they offer a clean slate for the imagination. Place bright coral and a deep grey next to it, and the colors shine… or a lovely pale pink with a navy—it just works. Beyond color, it allows the mind to breath—even if only in perception. Even in design school, I always appreciated clean tables, walls, and minimal clutter in order to be productive. Not much has changed, though now I have a little more color and warmth in my studio. Taking a closer look at this space above, isn't the copper pipe a fabulous idea for lowering lights, but also, for adding interest?

Welcome, Spring!

Bits of sunshine and slight warmth.

Good evening! Now, I fully admit to being addicted to Spring's season… warm light, longer days, life… and with it, a happier, more energized self. Though we did have a bit of snow this last week, I have almost forgotten, as today has replaced it with sunshine and the addition of a few degrees. For those celebrating along with me, I hope that enjoy every moment of the first weekend of Spring! I will have some work to do (though fun work isn't really work at all) but I will also try and relax and catch up on a very large pile of magazines to enjoy and sort. What do you have in store?

And speaking of beauty and excitement, along with Roséline, with lovely suggestions from Felicity as well, we have assembled a city guide of exciting Hong Kong, to compliment this week's {take me away} feature! With suggestions on where to stay, eat and some must-see spots and views, you won't want to miss this!

Interior: Surprising Details

A home of dramatic proportions.

From the alabaster steps, the eye travels to the rich green table and urn, to the decorative grey and golden doors, and through, to this beautiful and eclectic home. Modern meets relaxed, with old world elegance and artistry. What we discover is that we are entirely unsure of what might be around the corner… a striking touch of yellow, a moss wall, unique arches. Take a little tour, below…

And who would have thought that a wall of patchy green moss would sit so well next to a fireplace of refined details? Or that a freshly laundered, slipcovered sofa with lemon yellow pillows would work well just adjacent? Decorated by Gilles Jauffret, there are certainly an array of lovely elements to appreciate (such as the little window in the second to last image) —yet not even a touch of the space seems untouchable—the sofa, welcoming, the bed, so cozy, the desk, beckons you to pull up a chair for conversation. What do you find most intriguing?

Artists: Ana & Annette

Hand painted fabrics for the home.

Good morning! I hope that your week has been fabulous, and that you have some very nice plans in store for the upcoming weekend. As for today's inspiration, I am so happy to share a fascinating company with you—and one to truly celebrate. Here we begin with a look at the beautiful work of two talented ladies, Ana & Annette : "A simple story that begins ... the edge of the Marais, not far from the ocean, when we put our fabrics out to dry between trees, when the wind, light, and nature touches…"

(please pardon the translation of the quote from French to English)

These lovely ladies work closely together to create an array of pieces that bring nature into the home in new, fresh ways; Who are proud to bring sustainability in the way of cheese cloth, hemp, flax and cotton, into each piece. The style offers such beauty in the rustic approach… we see imperfect gestures, wrinkles, and a breezy, care-free way of daily living and relaxing that is undeniably appealing, particularly for the warm Spring and Summer months.

Plus, as we are on the topic of beauty, do stop by {this is glamorous} and view this week's {take me away} post, sharing some of the most incredible views and places to visit throughout Dublin, Ireland, what to pack for your journey, and of course, much more!
