Interior: A Home in Belgium

A photographer's home.

Today we take a look at different parts of Belgian photographer, Bieke Claessen's, lovely home. Her beautifully composed kitchen is far cry from my typical choice of a few brights mixed with plenty of neutrals, but perhaps due to the apparently quality and well-planned cabinetry, more rustic, inviting wood table, and large windows that allow for natural light to shine in, I will admit that I appreciate this lovely kitchen…

The remainder of the home seems to be saturated with a inviting warmth by the way of selected colors and textures. As for the living room, the unique compilation of shapes and weights of objects make for quite a gracious and surprising space. (and isn't that children's space sweet as well?) Additionally, that gorgeous bath featured in the last image rightfully deems a second look—desired with a hot cup of tea, plenty of warm water, lavender, and relaxation. What are your thoughts on this home?

Photography: Instagram

A note about instagram.

I hope that you are having a fabulous weekend! While many of you are probably watching The Oscars live, enjoying the beautiful gowns and dashing suits, I am catching glimpses here and there between emails. Speaking of pictures, I do not believe I've mentioned that I have joined instagram! As for my account, I have been (quickly) capturing a number of different things, mostly from around the home and studio—things I've recently purchased, or am just enjoying at the moment. I look forward to connecting with more of you, so please do share in the comments section if you are also on instagram—I would love to see!

Interior: With A View

And what a view indeed.

A view of the mountains or of the city streets? A view of a lake or rolling hills in the country? Views are such a large part of where we live, and where we choose to live. They can alter how we feel—a city view may energize and motivate (even after a long work day), as where a view of the countryside may relax and rejuvenate.

But views are not only relating to exteriors, but also interiors—how we and what we fill our homes with. For many, they enjoy an interior that is neutral and calm—serene and understated. For others, they need color and vibrancy—bold shapes and patterns... and some, may enjoy a mixture of the two—carefully planned. This beautiful home made me consider all such things. What do you prefer for a view both inside and out?

Plus, just in case you missed this week's {take me away} post, stop over—it is purely elegant, and brimming with beautiful photography and intriguing notations!

Style: Two Prints

A fabulous mix of pattern.

Now typically, this combination of busy, bold floral pants and striking leopard shoes, would not sit so well within my mind and eye. However, somehow it seems to be pulled off beautifully here. Perhaps this is due to the simple, solid colored pieces (such as that fabulous handbag) to balance the combination—acting as a neutralizer of sort. What are your thoughts? Would you be this daring?
