Weekly Finds № 29

This week's links and discoveries, beginning with:

01 Bonpoint, Spring/Summer 2012 collection: As much fun as I have looking at the shows for little ones. One of the freshest collections for fashion is Bonpoint. Light and wearable, relaxed and polished—a wonderful mixture for children. (See also a video of the runway below for additional styles) This lookbook brings back memories of roaming on my Grandparent's acreage—with trickling creeks, green slopes and the freshest air I've ever known.

02 Jamb Limited: And just like Bonpoint, these images of beautiful lanterns make me long for outdoor festivities and bright days. Here is a little about their designs : "This lantern collection has been inspired by many years of dealing in the finest antique lighting. Our designs are created with rigorous historical accuracy and blend the best elements of all that we have owned..."

03 On Greige, Christina shared a whimsical and very unique archway
04 Mes Caprices Belges featured a fabulous workspace/lobby
05 Lovely Package showcased packaging for a Brownerie by Index43
06 Atelier Turner shared an incredible staircase
07 Ada took a tour of a lovely atelier boutique in Bucharest : Portobello
08 On Laura, Audrey created a theatrical post featuring luxurious reds

Designer: Katie Ermilio

Katie Ermilio Spring/Summer 2012.

A few weeks back, Katie Ermilio and I had a twitter conversation about her beautiful new designs for Spring/Summer, and she asked, which one was my favorite... well, quite frankly, all of them are so beautiful, it is nearly impossible to select just one! I really find the style in image no.16 to so amazing, but I suppose I would not really know which looked best, unless I were to try a few... or all (*wink*) of them on.

Though the new collection has been live on the website for a number of weeks now, I was so pleased to discover Jamie Beck's large images showcased today. What a talent! The art direction is refreshing and simple, and truly allows one to appreciate the quality, shape and details of the pieces, I find. Which is your favorite?

Interior: A Dash of Sunshine

Winter's own lemonade.

Good evening! I hope that your weekend is going very well so far. Surprisingly, I awoke to a bit of freshly fallen snow this morning—though I was almost certain that we were through with snow for the better part of the year. However I long for snow, come mid to late January, I also find myself craving something or things afresh in lightness, brightness, and life during this time of year...

Adding yellows (in large or small ways) often provides the perfect source of brightness and warmth—particularly when they are on the slightly more sunny/golden side of the spectrum. A year or so ago, I purchased two large, cylinder, straight vases in a brilliant yellow. I keep them in storage for months at a time until after Christmas, after New Years, and just as the days begin to lengthen a little, and I need a little refreshment... do you find yourself desiring yellow from time to time as well?

Runway: Vogue's View

Backstage and Front-Row Photographs from the Couture Shows.

There are many beautiful designs to appreciate from the couture shows—some that completely stop the heart! I particularly enjoyed these images captured by Kevin Tachman for Vogue. Some are so candid, and others, sweet—you can almost feel the energy and excitement of the day just by looking at them. Above and below, you will see snippets of the following shows: Armani Privé, Christian Dior, Giambattista Valli, and Versace.
