Inspiration: A Familiar Space

A space that speaks to the heart.

Do you ever come across a space, and for whatever reason it very much speaks to your heart? Perhaps it is thanks to a memory… somewhere you might have visited that left you with an erasable impression? Or maybe it reminds you very much of a home of a loved one—somewhere where you were welcomed, felt comfortable, and warm. When I came across this space, that very feeling happened and it occurred to me that the senses are never, ever fooled, and speak straight to the heart and what is important to us. And now, I wish I could venture into this cozy space shown above… smell the flowers, have a nice cup of tea at that welcoming table, and wonderful conversation…

  5. Dearest Sarah,

This is very welcoming, curtain open to let one in... Flower petals strewn on the floor; very lived in look. Nothing sterile and picture perfect. The pillow in the chair is dented from someone sitting there. One chair pulled back where someone just sat. Maybe he/she will come back to us with a tray full of coffee and p√Ętisserie!
    Hugs to you,
    Mariette

  6. I love this Sarah, it almost looks like a painting with petals strewn on the floor and the cushion looking like it's just been sat on...it's really welcoming but sort of spooky as well...but I love it anyway. Regards to you...Elizabeth ♥♥

  7. I have definitely felt that way. Lately I have been seeing spaces that particularly remind me of my grandparents (on my father's side, both have passed away). It's not as if those spaces look like their home, there is just an element that reminds me of them and it's a wonderful feeling.

    That photo is gorgeous!

  8. I have talked about this very thing on my blog before. I also tend to run across places that I have dreamed about. It gives you that funny weightless feeling in the pit of your stomach.
