Interior: Sketch, London
Afternoon tea at Sketch: Glade Restaurant.
Good morning, friends! This weekend promises an abundance of summer rain, leaving me wishing I could curl up with weekend comforts and spend Saturday afternoon at Sketch. Their high tea looks quite lovely (not to mention very delicious!) and the newly revived space, intriguing, and rather cozy. Creatives Carolyn Quartermaine and Didier Mahieu are to thank for the beautiful results of the brand new look. They have created a découpage forest of sort, yet with reflections of the past, yet a bit of a contemporary feel…
"Taking inspiration from early c20th stationery, they re-painted, enlarged and reversed the design, printing it onto hundreds of metres of paper. Each piece is handcut, and découpaged to the walls." Delicate 50s rattan furniture from the South of France finishes the look in such a beautiful way, and adds that perfect forest element to the space.
