A warm welcome to Summertime!
It is almost as if on cue, Summer has officially arrived… not only in the sense of the annual calender occurrence, but in weather as well—finally! Today, I am working in the studio with the windows uncovered and the door wide open, every once in awhile peeking outside to enjoy…

And yesterday, I happened to spot a few delicate monarch butterflies fluttering around the large mock orange tree in the back, and tried to snap a few pictures. They were too quick, and fled before I could make it with the phone, but I will try again—their bright yellow wings paired against the tree was truly a lovely site. And it was the very act of seeing them flurry around the blossoms, and myself, running out barefoot, that made me stop for a moment and realize that Summer is officially here—all of the little details added up; the lovely things that come along with the season, and make up "Summer" in our lives and minds… carefree birds, insects and animals… full and draping trees, and lush flowers blossoming, the warm, sunny days—it all came to light. And so, with warmth, we welcome Summer—here to stay and enjoy for an entire season!* Plus, join me on Haute Design's brand new Facebook page *

DeleteI wish I could work with the windows wide open these days. But it's too hot and we have to rely on the air conditioner unfortunately. I'm trying to make the best of the summer days in the morning and evening. Lovely images. Wishing you a beautiful day, Sarah!

What gorgeous images! I want that floral dress and the cozy cottage from the first photo.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful mood in this post. I wish we had the weather you describe. We are mainly dealing with clouds and rain so the windows remain closed. Luckily it isn't cold but I would really like a few days in a row with nothing but sun. Happy Summer!
ReplyDeleteI hope the sun heads your way soon, Lisa! x
DeleteSuch lovely images, Sarah! Especially those cottages in the first pic. Enjoy your weekend and the summer sunshine x
ReplyDeleteI love all these white washed images Sarah--love that summer has arrived and am enjoying the cool breezes we have here while they last--it will get hotter as the weeks progress. Happy weekend to you!

Sigh. I wish it felt like summer here (Portland), but it is currently pouring down rain. Feels more like Fall! I'll enjoy it while I can. I know 90+ degree temps are right around the corner.
ReplyDeleteHappy Summer Sarah! Hope it's warm and sunny where you are. Thanks for always having some of the most beautiful posts of the season! x
ReplyDeleteAs you enjoy Summer we are officially accepting grey skies and rain and cold. These pics are a lovely pick me up. Fiona
