Escape: Walled Gardens

Surrounded by garden and sunlight.

I am often fascinated by the way in which those who have apartments, townhomes, and lofts create beautiful garden living. Considering that there are so many possibilities for plants to be grown indoors, it is nice to be able to take advantage of both indoor spaces and out, with trailing or potted plants, and planters outside windows and on quaint decks. And beautiful hidden outdoors spaces such as this just call for enjoyment—breakfast in robes and slippers, an afternoon nap on a Summer day, a dinner party with friends, with the doors wide open. Such a fresh and lively spot, and so nice to come home to, and completely private from the world…

  1. I think the Europeans particularly excel at this!

  2. Dearest Sarah,

Indeed it is a great opening to the outdoors, depending if the sunshine will be able to reach it too... I could live with a walled in garden, as long as I had 'some' green around!
    Love to you,

  3. These look absolutely beautiful, Sarah! I would love a garden like this! x

  4. O personally prefer to have a view, but you can work wonders with a space like these too. :)

    1. I agree, I am one to like to see out, but this is so cozy, too :)

  5. Lovely! Garden's make dining outdoors so wonderful!

  6. I would love to be able to have something like this draping off my wall but will have to suffice with a few pots on my window sill...although I have potted jasmine this year for some summer scent!!

  7. Ohh, such a beautiful patio.. love the sweet sanguine tones of the wall behind the plants. They fit so harmoniously together!

  8. Simplicity at it's absolute best. Gorgeous design.
