Welcome to South Africa.
Perhaps one of the most pinned, re-blogged and tweeted posts ever on Haute Design was the previous post featuring Amanda Wakeley's bridal collection. Why so? Maybe it is because her designs defy most of what is on the market today? Indeed, her silky and elegant styles certainly make a lasting impression, with cultural influences that make them both refreshing and unforgettable…
From the first image, so striking, with the peplum bodice and cross-angle details, to the incredible back details in no.04, a cut out, with folds and folds of fabric, to the elegance of the more silky, drapey styles that follow—the ladylike designs are just as memorable and lovely as the other collections. (South Africa, Morocco, Rahjastan, and Desert) What are your impressions of these styles?

Such exquisitely beautiful wedding gowns...oh, how I wish I had got married in one!
ReplyDeleteMy choice...the first gown...fabulous.
Have a wonderful weekend, Sarah.

Sarah these are all stunning. The draping is perfect and the designs feminine without being over the top.
ReplyDeleteThe simplicity of the vertical lines & flow and the detail in the folds and applique work balance each other beautifully.
Of course it helps when the fitting on this gorgeous model has been done with perfection. All in all a beautiful collection and shoot.
Thank you for sharing.

Ooh I had no idea she had such an extensive collection simply dedicated to briadalwear... my dress was from Amanda Wakeley too!
ReplyDeleteOooh, lovely! I remember your wedding pictures—so beautiful :)
DeleteLovely styles! The one with the diamond back cut-out is gorgeous!

Oh my, Sarah, these dresses are so simple, so beautiful! Sometimes I get the feeling that designers forget that there are more wedding gown styles than princess-like ones: a fine fabric, simple design and just an exquisite detail to make it special-that's what I had in mind when I had my wedding dress custom-made. I always pay much attention to the back of a dress and the gorgeous details on the one in the 3rd photo simply swept me off my feet. I hope you're having a wonderful weekend! xo

Ada: I completely agree, and believe mine will be somewhat like these (one day!). I bet your dress was just beautiful, knowing your taste as I do. xx
DeleteIt's a good thing that I'm not in the market for a dress, because I would have a hard time choosing one from this collection. Every single design is just so perfect. The draping and cut is so flattering and timeless. Wouldn't it be fun to try them all on?
ReplyDeleteNot to mention, the photography is breathtaking.
Do I need to be a bride to wear these dresses? these are absolutely stunning, feminine yet modern and simple...just perfect. How do you ever her of such talented designers?
ReplyDeleteI think a few could be worn to a dinner or dancing, many occasions :) I first learned of Amanda thanks to my David, who came across her website, and sent me a link, knowing I would fall in love with her designs…
DeleteSo elegantly Grecian! I wish I could marry my husband all over again in one of these gowns!
