Welcome, February

Soft and beautiful natural textures of the country.

This month I begin by being inspired by softness, natural textures, and countrysides—from stone and wooden eggs to open weave linens and largely brimmed hats. Perhaps this inspiration has been brought about thanks to the beautiful sunshine we've had lately, but nevertheless, I'm finding these humble colors and objects to be such comforts—perfect inspiration for a romantic dinner for two, gift giving and living...

Do turn the volume on your computer up, and enjoy this beautiful video as well, which features a preview of a film to come on wondrous castles of the world... And lastly, to begin the month, stop over at {this is glamorous} to read this week's {take me away} post, which transports us to three of the most beautiful and romantic rose gardens in the world, with helpful ideas and tips on how to select roses, extend their life, uses, decorating, and much more...

What are you inspired by at the moment?

  9. I really enjoyed that video, beautiful!

Interesting, I still remember a post your wrote last year on February. It was something you said that made me view that month in a different light. When you're brought up in Iceland, February is just another cold month and there is definitely nothing that indicates the arrival of spring. But in Belgium it's different. Unfortunately it's very cold now but the sun is shining and spring will soon greet us ;-)
