J.Mendel Fall 2012 RTW collection.
The runways are bringing many thoughts on fashion and considerations for Fall 2012—from striking silhouettes color from
DVF and Victoria Beckham, and
glamorous elegance from Tory Burch, to
interesting ideas from Marc Jacobs, and
straight shapes from Reed Krakoff.
As for J.Mandel's collection, I am quite drawn to the sumptuous layers and textures, and the unashamed opulence. Nothing is over-the-top in my books—a great balance remains. I also enjoy the response to his work, some of which has brought to mind: "traces of Gaudi" and "stained glass windows", with many flattering cuts, just revealing enough. They certainly call one to take a second look... and of course, J.Mendel is known for incredible craftsmanship—so evidently seen here. What are your thoughts and impressions?

DeleteVery elegant and chic! loving the third image from above, the "coffee with cream" ensemble and golden lovelies, but the black furry/leather coat, the whole look, ankle booties, black tights, really swept me of my feet!!!
