Designer: Bulthaup

Luxurious and beautifully composed kitchens.

There are so many wonderful options for kitchen design now. Uppers with lowers, just lowers, one island, two islands, no island. Furniture, build-ins, galley style, open. Some are warm and light, some are white and open and clean... others are dark and well light, a little moody... and some are crisp, bright and fresh.

I particularly enjoy the unique and thoughtful touches that some of these kitchens display—a place for all the necessities ... Isn't that immaculate drawer a dream? Which kitchen would you prefer? The cozy, elegant in the first image, with a mix of traditional and old with modern, new lines... maybe the warm and modern kitchen, or perhaps the one with that gorgeous stone wall?

Inspiration: Relaxed Living

Neutral colors, drape, calm scents and soft touches.

As Summer is coming toward its mid/end, we enjoy this lovely time—an in between phase of sort—some mornings feel almost as crisp as new Autumn mornings do, but days are still filled with the warmth and sunshine of Summer. Light layers for oneself and the home are a must, be it fine linen or cotton blazers and scarves, easy tablecloths, towels, or blankets at hand. Perfect for relaxing with a great novel or enjoying a leisurely bath...

Inspiration: Lights at Night

Warm, glowing lights at night.

One of my fondest Summer memories is celebrations—whether it is Birthdays, Anniversaries or just a Summer dinner, that span from the core house to the outdoors. Those lively celebrations that last well into the evening... with candles lit in the large tree's candelabra, lanterns dispersed on the deck, tea lights lining the courtyard and on tabletops, and glowing lights from inside the house... how magical it is. All of this came to mind yesterday evening, as I came across this beautiful "proto-barn" by FAS(t) that was built in the Russian countryside for a competition I believe. The delicate looking strings are actually chains, meant to frame the space. Quite beautiful isn't it? If you had one, what would you use it for? A cocktail party? A romantic dinner? Perhaps a conservatory of sorts?

Designer: Zara, August

Prim and proper—clean cuts for early Autumn.

Today was a late Summer break... the sun was nowhere to be found all day long, but instead, our gardens were certainly well watered with all of the rain that we had. It made me think of how close Autumn truly is, and some of the lovely pieces to look forward to. Zara certainly has some beautiful things, and I personally would love to have that striking, deep blue and black blazer as well as some of these blouses... and you?
