Interior: Conservatories
Elegant additions to the home.
With the close of the weekend and start to a new week, I find it it important to seek daily solitude in small ways during an often busy week. I admit, I've always been fond of the idea of having a conservatory. Perhaps it is a romantic view of how one might enjoy the space and the many purposes that it offers. A serene setting for curling up in a plush chair, relaxing with a morning coffee and enjoying the beginning of the new day, the perfect spot to place a classic grand piano in, maybe a cozy interior extension of the garden just outside of pools or ponds, or perhaps a multi-purpose library/den or sorts. In my mind, I envision the most beautiful blue Summer sky, creating a canvas for the space and those who may use it... if you have a conservatory, do you enjoy it? Or if you also dream of one, what would it look like and how would you use the space?

I've never thought of a conservatory so far. I think it would be perfect for anything involving a creative activity, like painting or drawing. Those turquoise chairs are beautiful! Have a wonderful new week, Sarah! :)

Amanda: it certainly would—great idea!
ReplyDeleteAda: isn't that space incredible? I could see great inspiration coming from such a space—a studio would be a lovely use...
Growing up I was definitely enchanted by the idea of a conservatory--how much we change when we get grown up. I would still love one but haven't thought about it in years--thank you for the inspiration Sarah!

Love # 2 & 3! Something that beautiful would be so lovely to enjoy! Especially on a sunny Spring morning or in the Fall when the leaves are turning!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great weekend Sarah :)
Ah, what a lovely space a conservatory is, every home should have one! I love the idea of a grand piano in the corner. Hope you're having a good Monday,

One word...Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteLove the second one - it looks like something straight out of Marie Antoinette's gardens at the Petit Trianon.
