  1. With one roommate moving out and a new roommate moving in, we need to finish decorating our dining room. We have wall that needs a painting on it, so I will either be painting one or looking for the perfect piece.
    Much love,

  6. I hope to begin rehabing a flat in Scotland by the end of this summer. My projects here in Houston are done, over and out. I'm on to the highlands (that as soon as a sold sign is in the yard).

Decorate looks like one terrific book or should I say tool. One of those that you never want out of your reach. Congrat's to Holly, Joanna and Debi. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity Sarah.

    Cheers ~ Deb

  7. This looks like a great book. We are wanting to add a little panache in our hallway. It is somewhat boring at the moment. The extra bedroom is going to be painted soon and any extra ideas are definitely welcome. I do display work as well and find decor books are always an inspiration. This book will definitely be a very useful addition to my design library.

  10. My main project this summer is to redo the office. It has a collection of hand me downs that does not inspire any work at all. I share with my husband so I need some ideas to help pull this off. This book looks great.

Although I live with my parents, there are areas of the house that I enjoy: my room and bathroom. I would like to re-decorate both rooms and make them more serene. I hope to get inspiring ideas from Holly Becker's book.

  12. I'll be repainting the kitchen's formica countertops, refinishing the garage, building a few small tables, DIY light fixtures, building a desk for the office, reupholstering three chairs, recovering pillows galore, sewing new curtains, framing sentimental artwork for a hallway gallery wall, relandscaping the backyard, painting the outside of the house (minus the main surface of brick), decorating these 1800 sf, hacking a few ikea bureaus, restoring an antique china cabinet, working on my styling skills, and eeking out a photo or two of the process.

    There's more, but that's a start. ;-)

I purchased an ottaman at a yard sale for $2 with the prettiest Frenchy legs that I intend to either silver or gold leaf. Then, I'm going to recover the worn gold velvet fabric with a vintage black fur jacket I bought for a song. A girl needs a little glamour here and there, no?

Well, I just moved to San Diego with my other half :) We are in the process of making our home more chic combining feminine and masculine vintage and contemporary decor. It's definitely something new for me but I truly have enjoyed what we have come up with so far!

  37. Wow, I've been loving Joanna's blog and this book definitely looks amazing!

My boyfriend and I are recent college grads living together and I am slowly trying to switch over furniture or add little design touches so our place feels less like a college dorm room. Our big project for the summer is the living room. We're hoping to invest in some kind of entertainment center so we can ditch the salvaged stand we have the tv on currently. I think it'll make a huge impact!

Thanks for the opportunity to win this book, and as always: thanks for your great ideas and inspirations as well!

  39. I have been following Holly/Decor8/Haus Maus for sometime now---I'm a huge fan.
This summer, we're in the process of stripping down our main bathroom & redoing it. The colors are going to be bold with a deep magenta on the walls and a lighter shade of pink on the ceiling. We're removing the old cabinet style sink & clunky medicine cabinet. We shall be putting in a pedestal sink, hanging a lovely mirror, installing new lights, laying tiles on the floor and we have already picked up a lovely accent bit in the fabric for the shower curtain which has the wall colors and teal, turquoise, coral, white & beige.
I'd be so excited if I won a copy of this book as I'm huge fan!!! Ciao!! ~Ann~

I've been really interested in reupholstering lately. Looking at different fabric types and patterns...

Most of the fabrics I've seen used are patterned but I recently ran across this and it has me reconsidering. The flamingo is just so unexpected, I love it.
