Interior: Wood on Wood

A grand Parisian apartment.

One thing that I especially love about this beautiful apartment, apart from the never ending fascination with molding work and golden mirrors, is the evident use of different wood tones combined; As you see within in the first image, with the little side table against the herringbone wood floor, followed by examples of different cabinets, ladders, doors, etc. Even some of the vintage chairs offer an additional layer. Do you prefer wood tones to match or do you too like a mix?

  1. Gorgeous apartment. I completely believe that woods can be mixed, but I'm not a matchy-matchy type. And I will take all those boxes of shoes...

  2. I just want to live there... I like mixing up textures and colours as long as they look beautiful together. I think it makes the end result more interesting and unique.

  4. I love a more eclectic, vintage look. As nice as a streamlined look can be, I think a variety of textures of the same finish is much more visually interesting.

  7. Definitely believe in mixing it up...adds interest and creates dimension in a space. If an interior has all the same wood tones then I tend to just glance over the room. Stunning apartment...oh Paris!
