Designer: White by Vera Wang

A beautiful bridal collection.

I have long been a fan of Vera Wang's array of wonderful designs, and was so excited to learn about her new bridal collection, entitled White by Vera Wang. The gowns and accessories will be sold exclusively at 150 David’s Bridal stores starting on February 11. The collection includes the 12 lovely styles as shown above, ranging from full ball gowns to more modern and slim silhouettes, all expressing the same detailing, craftsmanship and approach to design that is unmistakeably Vera Wang.

To sweeten their appeal, the pieces you see above are priced at a very approachable price range. “Every bride deserves to have great design,” says Vera. “I’m going to be able to really bring clothes to women I could never dress before.”  There is a splendid section through David's Bridal, dedicated to the new collection, and includes some information about the pieces, more thoughts from Vera, and of course, a look at the wedding dresses themselves. I have to say, my personal favorite would have to be the first, with its extremely flattering bodice and dreamy, full skirt that seems to float so perfectly, like the most delicate, fluttery flower imaginable...

  1. Hello Sarah! These are so beautiful! As a former bridal gown buyer for a Washington DC boutique, and Vera Wang bride myself, I am dying to know the quality of these gowns. I know Vera wouldn't put her name on it unless she stood behind it (at least I would hope so!) #6, 9 and 12 are my faves! :) Hope you're having a wonderful week lovely! xoxo

  2. Agree with Trish. Love the designs & it's a perfect fit for Vera Wang to be at David's Bridal. I just saw that Anthropologie has introduced a bridal line price from $1200-$4000, I almost gasped, I mean what bride would pay this price for a gown from Anthro when the luxury brands & stores have gowns in this price point? Just saying.

  3. Trish: that's right, I think you might have mentioned that you were a buyer once before :) I would love to see these gowns, also, as Vera Wang is just amazing. She was rather firm in declaring that the quality would be consistent, thank goodness!

Splenerosa: I am curious to see the line—I have been anxiously waiting!

  10. I saw Vera Wang and the new bridal collection at Oprah some months ago and I wanted to remarry my husband so I could get one of her lovely dresses.

  11. They look absolutely beautiful. Agree with Trish - all depends on the quality but they seem to be fabulous alternatives at a terrific price point.

  12. This is a great idea.
Vera Wang's design are always lovely but she IS expensive!
    Glad brides will have options.
Samples are also a great idea.
I ended up finding a handmade, silk dress for a third of the price because I opted for the sample. It was beautiful and more comfortable than anything else I had tried on.

  13. Hello - these are so pretty they make my heart ache. Want to get married again! Isn't there that quote in that film with Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway (Bridal Wars?) where she says '...you don't alter Vera to fit you; you alter yourself to fit Vera!'. Such is the allure! Lou x

  14. I don't mean to be a bore here Sarah because I love your blog. These dresses are gorgeous, but I don't understand why they use such a young model. This girl is beautiful but she doesn't sell me a wedding dress; my eyes go straight to that young face and this whole thing somehow falls flat.

  15. Lou: Yes! That came to mind as I was creating this post... made me smile—might have to watch that fun movie again this weekend :)

  16. Great post! I tried on several Vera Wang bridal dresses three years ago. I thought they were beautiful but very "big". Not all brides want a huge dress, and the "White" collection seems to be the perfect answer. The dresses are beautiful and elegant, and I love the pink one.

  23. I was very impressed when I saw these photos. The designs are beautiful and the prices are great. I just wonder about the quality up-close, but still I think this is a great thing that Vera has undertaken. Just wish they'd been around when I got married--could have saved myself a ton! :)
