Good Friday morning! For today's inspirational Christmas post, I wanted to share some of my favorite stick and branch ideas for bringing a little winter into the home. I personally love bringing sticks into my space, especially each returning year at Christmas, for a whimsical, organic presence. They allow for a tremendous amount of flexibility in look and feel... spray paint them white for a light and airy look, gold for glamour, or leave them natural, and adorn with many ornaments—the possibilities are so vast. Let's take a closer look at each of the ideas demonstrated above, shall we...
01 add thin sticks into a simple iron birdcage for an extra layer—finish off with sweet birds
02 a simple stick wreath can add just a touch of winter to your wall or above your fireplace, especially with just a few berries tucked in for depth and color
03 beneath the opening of simple glass candlesticks, tuck in painted or natural sticks for a little surprise*
04 create a backdrop, almost screen-like, with large and free branches, slightly crossing over within the centre of the two sections, perhaps bringing a few branches towards the cabinet—brushing the top. Adorn with large, simple ornaments for a more bold look
05 turn a large clear vase upside down to create a dome effect, add a branch inside and perhaps flowers (for an atrium look) or birds (for a bird cage look) and a few glistening ornaments to draw the eye inside, or as shown, drape something fun over top!
+ place a mirror behind any of these ideas above in order to reflect the different angles of the branches—the look is much more powerful this way
*do you have any additional ideas/thoughts that you would like to share?
