L'avènement de Noël: № 18
A spacious home with beautiful touches of Christmas.
I find that both large and small homes may inspire, opulent or understated, simple or dramatic. For such a grand home, I find this one shown above to be swinging towards a slightly more understated yet elegant nature in terms of Christmas decoration. A simple natural tree dresses the corner, candles staggered above the mantle and luxurious fabric swags. Just enough. As we move into the hallway and dining area, we see branches for scent and look, tucked on top the mantle and into napkin rings. Little bits of white feathers and silvery decorations have been added in select areas for a statement; a true testament that sometimes just enough is enough to make Christmas look completely magical... are you more for understated, opulent or just enough in your home?
+ on a side note, isn't that cozy alcove completely beautiful?

That house was made for Christmas. It looks like the house that the Sugar Plum Fairy would live in - gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteIt would be a dream to celebrate Christmas in a place like that!
ReplyDeleteYou left the best for last...just beautiful, Frarncine
ReplyDeletei wish i could move there for the holidays and sip some hot chocolate sitting on that beautiful furniture!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, all the detailing is brilliant! I especially love the daybed and the old school washroom!! Fantastic photos of an amazing home :)
ReplyDeleteSarah if there was a place that I can go to in my dreams and and visit with my grandmother like I did as a child it would be here. We would stay awhile...feeling completely safe, unafraid, and I would ask her to tell me all the stories that she once told me as a child, so that I can remember them forever as an adult. We would have tea and honey & peanut butter sandwiches. My grandmother would love these images. They are beautiful. Thank you for taking me to a place so pretty.

ReplyDeletebeautiful, beautiful house! thank you for sharing these inspirational images with us.
ReplyDeleteI'm never in my life an over the top girl, I think I more of a down-to-earth one. Christmas goes the same with it :) The simpler the better, the essence of Christmas is not in the festivities anyway, it's in the message :) But a lil touch of joy, I wouldn't mind. Happy christmas-countdown, Sarah!
ReplyDeleteRealmente mágico. thanks.
ReplyDeleteOh so beautiful...I could easily enjoy Christmas here. The warmth of the home keeps me looking at the images over and over :) Biaa's comment brought back the beautiful memories of my favorite Grandma, who always made me feel special, even though she had many grandchildren. I wish I could have one more day with her as well :) As a mom, my hope is that I have created beautiful memories of our life, and look forward to one day creating the same for grandchildren.

Dear Sarah, if you keep posting more photos of such beautiful interiors in subdued shades I will really have to repaint my VERY colorful apartment, and that's going to be a lot of work ;-)! Take care! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOMG...I love it! So elegant, beautiful and sophisticated. I think it shows that one doesn't need to flood one's home with christmas decorations to make it look charming and in-spirit of holidays. It's stunning - I want such house ;)
