Enchanting

Valentino, Winter 10/11.

Oh, what I would give to wear one of these incredibly gowns. Aren't they stunning? I find that so much of the love of fashion and design lies within the dream... the dream of wearing something so beautiful. Though certainly not as incredible as these, I have a very special dress hanging in my closet—one that is simply cut, as deep as midnight, and sweeps the ground with its delicate layers. It was a gift from my Mother, from an auction we attended. I brought it home this Summer, and every once in awhile, I peek at it, dreaming of different places that I might wear it to one day. It's the sort of dress that feels like magic, the second you put it on... do you have a piece like that?

  1. Hi Sarah, these are divine for sure, the model too is just stunning. I love the one that looks like it once resembled a hoop skirt that went under dresses - crinolene? - anyway I think it's awesome. I was trying to clear out my wardrobe yesterday and I have a dress that has that shape - I always loved wearing it and haven't had the chance to for years. I think I will keep it - just in case the occasion arises! Lou x

  7. Valentino can do no wrong as far as I am concerned. These clothes are stunning. So beautiful.
Every time I see or hear the word "enchanted" I thing of the movie You've Got Mail.
    Have a nice day.

  8. I am in love with the first dress... Dreeeeamy... I would love to see your dress, sweetie (if you ever feel like taking a photo or two - as we say in Russia "the country must know its heroes" :), and so does the blogging world. ;) )
I think if I had to pick one piece, I'd go for the sandals I wore on my wedding day. They are gorgeous, with tiny enamel flowers and Swarowski crystals. My husband gave them to me as a present just a few days before our big day, so you can imagine how much I treasure them.

  13. Oh my! Simply stunning, Sarah. Unfortunately, there is no such garment in my closet that gives me the same feeling, which simply means I must shop!

Hope your week is off to a great start! All the very best,

    Linda, xo

  17. I totally know what you mean about a special piece that you love in your closet, waiting for a special time and place. I am going to admit that I don't just look at my pieces, I will occasionally put them on and dance around when I'm feeling stressed and it always makes me feel happy!

Thanks for sharing these beautiful dresses. My favorite is the one that looks like the "structure" of a dress with bows! LOVELY
