Castello di Vicarello

Take a little vacation with me.

Where to go? Well, this place certainly fits the bill! This incredible castle was born back in the 1100s, and is beautifully situated on a hill overlooking the Maremma countryside in southern Tuscany... not so long ago, (fifty years, give or take) this estate was purchased by the Baccheschi Berti family. When they bought it, it was in a sad state of ruin. That didn't matter. No, they recognized the beauty that it once possessed and could again with a little love and care. And so, carefully and respectfully, they restored the castle and land—giving it back the glorious and majestic presence that it once had...

Finely decorated with both antiques and modern furnishings, this hotel offers a total of seven luxury and unique suites to its guests. You may select one of the rooms that overlooks the castle courtyard, paved with ancient stones, or a room in one of the outbuildings that is surrounded by white roses, lavender and ancient olive trees. Beyond the rooms, the hotel offers so much... you may enjoy a refreshing swim in one (yes one) of their gorgeous fresh–water pools, or take a walk through the wildflowers, looking into the vineyard, or maybe spend the afternoon at the spa, go hunting, or join the conversation in the kitchen, and experience the flavours and maybe a few secrets of Italian cooking. Everything is cultivated to traditional methods, as well as being organic. Delicious. Sounds like a lovely plan, doesn't it? ... oh, did I mention the wine?
