Tina Kalivas

I came across this beautiful, new–to–me clothing line, Tina Kalivas, the other day. Though not typically my style, I am just so drawn to the vibrant use of color, the uncommon lines of these dresses, as well as the apparent sense of fun! A great transition into colorful looks for spring 2010, I believe. What are your thoughts on this line? Have you heard of it before?

  2. And these dresses are quite architectural in form in addition to the qualities you described. The folk prints are lent an edge.

By the way, I adore Anne of Green Gables and am glad to see that you've got a quote here!

  4. No, first time. But I see a bit of folklore in the patterns. (So trendy in Sweden right now). Especially in pic 3 - very cute for the Summer!

    Happy week! Mon

  5. Tina Kalivas is one of my favourite designers and I've featured her several times on my website, including this collection dubbed Polyrhythms. It's actually inspired by Africa. She recently did an interview with Dazed Digital, Tina is too awesome for words!

  6. TheCluelessCrafter -- I adore Anne of Green Gables, also -- I grew up watching the movies, reading the novels, and loving that period. So happy to find someone else who likes "her" also :)

Greet -- I totally see aboriginal design, too.

    Monika -- I agree!

ds {ms. shoo} I will have to visit your site -- thank you :)

  7. I love the African influence of her designs...very beautiful...#6, #8 could easily be worn by a woman in any age group...the other styles would be too young for me, but are amazing just the same...oh to be young again for the fashion of today :)

    Love her work....

  12. Well, not really my thing to wear but I do like the boldness and details. I'm more of a neutral gal with an accessory pop :)
