Detail of the Week

Birdcages + Lights. I could not believe my eyes when I came across these two charming wire pieces—available now at Anthropologie. The French wire manor on the left is so sweetly detailed with curlicue turrets and the cutest , dainty little dining set! Have you seen this done before in such a fabulous way? The lighting on the right is a little more subtle and has quite an industrial chic flair. Great mix! I would love to see it in a little reading alcove perhaps or even a garden room....

Beautifully brilliant! We have just recently ordered a birdcage from Maureen, at Inglenook decor—and have a source for a little antique metal shade, similar to the one shown above.
Maybe a little diy project is in order? Would you try this with a birdcage?

  2. The birdcage is ethereal and whimsical. A real find! I'd love to hang some of my paper sculptures inside.

  3. I've been eyeing the light on the right for awhile now! It would be so perfect in so many different settings!

And I'd love to see the one on the left in a home, what a great, statement piece!

  5. I'm not usually a fan of birdcages as decor but this one is just TOO cute! I love it.

And I am always impressed by what Anthrologie manages to come up with. I need to remember to check in with them more often!

  8. Hi sarah. I just smiled when i read your post about the birdcage. i worked with the young french woman and used to sell her birdcages in my showroom years ago, I actually still have a few small ones. I would love to send you one, just send me via email your address. They are handmade by the artist in Avignon,France.
