Holly Golightly

She made the little black dress iconic...large sunglasses stylish...popularized flats, and made everybody around her fall for her personality, charm, and fashion sense! Who can resist Audrey Hepburn? She was such and authentic person with a huge heart and mega talent.

When I think of Audrey, "Breakfast at Tiffany's" instantly comes to mind. It was my first and one of my favorite Hepburn films. Her character, Holly Golightly, lived both a lavish and frugal lifestyle. She had such flair, whether she was dressed in her best, headed to Sing Sing, or wrapped up in a bed sheet hosting a party. (her sleeping mask was hilarious!) She was quirky — she kept her phone in a suitcase, her ballet slippers in her fridge and was crazy about Tiffany's!

She certainly didn't have very much, but everything she had, she made chic somehow...like the bathtub converted to a sofa...or drinking milk from a champagne glass. She might even be considered a modern day minimalist. I was thinking, the other day, how much fun it would be to put together a gift with a "Breakfast at Tiffany's" theme for a friend or family member, or maybe even add a touch of Holly's style to your own home! With a few key pieces, such as the ones shown above, (and the dvd of course) you're set!

* Vibrant pink clutch from Kate Spade
* Chanel No. 5 Perfume
* Chanel necklace from Bag Borrow or Steal
* Chanel sunglasses
* Sleeveless Shift Dress from Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti
* Globe Trotter suitcase from J.Crew
* Vintage phone similar can be found at Pottery Barn

  7. If you like her in Breakfast @ Tiffany's, you should try "Love in the afternoon"...(If you haven't already seen it, of course). It's old, in black & white, but I adored it!

    i agree, she was something of a minimalist- a "lush minimalist" (not my term, but i like to use it to describe minimalist style with a twist!)

  11. Thank you for your kind comments! :) This was fun to put together and I hope it inspires some glam gift-giving ~

    I only wish to have the grace and class of Audrey -- she certainly is one to admire -- I'm still reading "What Would Audrey Do" and the more I read about her, the more I wish to be as kind as she was...

  16. I came across that suitcase and fell in love -- granted it's a little pricey -- but truly a timeless piece, a lifetime piece. It also comes in a very vibrant color!

  17. I love this post. What fabulous pieces you put together for a Breakfast at Tiffany's-themed collection (the trunk and the phone are such wonderful touches!) That film is perfection. I've watched it more times than I have any other film, I'm certain. I own the box-set as well as two other copies on DVD. Can you imagine anyone having three copies of the same DVD?

    So much for minimalism. Ha!

    Cheers.

  21. The links of london .When considering presents for a friend or a family member, the Links of London Rings silver pendant is your best choice. The delicate necklace that catches the light completely shows the femininity and elegance. So fashionable this season t own this one. It would be more charming wear with other pieces of Raindance collection. If you decide that you are going to go with a more expensive present, you will probably find that these Links London Rings are a little more suited for those that want a really good quality Raindance Silver necklace. Coming and wearing Links Rings , feeling the right happy.
