White Living

Sometimes, a single refreshing and serene white room is nice. This look may not be for everyone, but I do admit, done correctly, a white room can be quite beautiful. There are a few key elements to decorating successfully with white. When sticking to one color, it's best to play with a mix of texturesusing leather, glass, matte, gloss, metal, wood, etc. Don't be afraid to create layers within a room. Adding texture and depth adds interest. A great example of this is shown in image 04. Don't you love the barrel ceiling featured in the bathroom in image 06? Do you have any secrets to decorating with white?

  1. I agree with you -- white, when done right, can be just as striking as using any bold color. That said though, I'm not sure I could actually live in it!

  5. I don't know if I could do it either. I do have a lot of white furniture, but there is still color in the room...it certainly is lovely to look at, though~

  6. I have a complete aversion to white except for sheets and towels, and even those have to have a beautiful colored monogram. I love color. I don't even use white light bulbs-just pink ones!

  7. I like decorating with white but my white rooms always have a pop. The pop maybe small but I think it actually rests the eye from the white ~ like the little red stool in the first picture (I think). You do find great pictures.....
