Scandinavian Modern

The other day, I was delighted to be introduced to Scandinavian Modern, an amazing company that offers carefully chosen, modern Scandinavian furniture and accessories. As soon as I launched their site, I was delightfully surprised by their selection and quality. I hope you like them as wellthey are so passionate about design, and it shows!

Here's some more info. about them: "We hand pick and make available primarily original, vintage, mid-century modern, Danish and other Scandinavian furniture. We admire and stock pieces from such designers as Hans Wegner, Arne Jacobsen, Finn Juhl, Børge Mogensen, Kai Kristiansen, Arne Vodder, Ole Wanscher and Hans Olsen. We also stock pieces that may not have been designed by a well known designer but were crafted by elite danish cabinetmakers and are unique and showcase scandinavian functionality and appearance. When you purchase vintage furniture from us you can rest assured that you are investing in a product with no hidden flaws and a 100% genuine and original product. All pieces are selected for design, quality and condition."

I like so many of the pieces they showcase, but I especially love how the dining set shown above is incredibly functional and beautiful! Perfect for an apartment. They just received the set from Denmark, which is made from Burmese teak. Check them out! Over the next few weeks they are expecting exciting, new shipments. /all images and quote via their site.

  1. Wow...love this furniture! I'm keeping my eye on this style. I believe this will be a trend we see more and more in home decor. It's already catching on in European magazines, so it takes a few years to hit North America. Selecting some specific pieces and incorporating them into your home can not only add interests, but bring a mid century modern to a classic or contemporary home. It is simplistic and can hold it's own or pair well with other decor styles. The table and chairs with a beautiful chandelier over it would be amazing...with a mirrored sideboard or a large baroque style mirror on the wall...I can picture some beautiful masculine Ralph Lauren or Calvin Klein mixed with it...oh, or some Designers Guild for a more feminine touch...the possibilities are endless because it is so simple...

  2. gorgeous!! i see all these pieces in a white room (not the same white room mind you). its just my way. dark wood against stark white gives me a boner.
