"Decorating is not about making stage sets, it's not about making pretty pictures for the magazines; it's really about creating a quality of life, a beauty that nourishes the soul."—Albert Hadley, The Story of America's Preeminent Interior Designer

This is exactly how I feel when approaching my space. It has taken years to collect pieces that I love, are memorable, or just really suit the space and are somehow a reflection of my personality. After all, it's often the quirky pieces, the pieces that may not "fit" that can make a space your own, your personal reflection...and in that, they are beautiful. Hope your weekend has been wonderful! /image 01 link/image 02 link/image 03 link/image 04 link/image 05 link.

  1. albert hadley along with vicente wolf take similar approaches to design. vicente wolf in his book "Learning to See" says "I believe you can find your own style simply by becoming conscious of the things that bring you pleasure." It took me years to find my style, dappling in the many trends that were out there...until I finally found what works in my space with my family in our home and not care about what others think, or if I'm in the current trend...

The hues of blues are so calm, I've never really been a "blue" person, but some of these blues could work nicely in my home ....
