Marquis & Camus

Many apologies! I'm having a terrible time with the last two posts that I have tried to post up for some reason. They don't seem to want to show up for some...

I first fell in love with the line, Marquis & Camus back in March, but today, decided to re-visit their site to see what was new. I'm still in love with their Victorian Romance collection and would love to be able to wear one. Do you think it would be a lovely touch to a wedding dress that had a vintage feel? Perhaps in soft pink or cream. Personally, I'm not sure I could pull it off. I have a very petite frame and often jewelry such as this looks too overpowering. If I were taller, I think I would have one already!

The nautical necklace is quite charming, as well! It would be ultra-chic with a bikini in navy or with a simple, sweeping maxi dress. As for the last piece shown, with the attached purse, wow! I'm not sure how heavy that would be, but it's certainly amazing. All you would need is a simple dress...I'm thinking soft and sheer looking...what do you think?

Amoungst the Garden...

What can be said? This collection of images, by the talented Rodney Smith, of course, reminds me of "The Secret Garden", with a pinch of charm and glamor. Beyond the overall aesthetic of these pictures, I quite love the armoire that is being featured! Wouldn't it be perfect in a large kitchen? I could see it showcasing beautiful, stacked plates, bowls, pitchers, glasses, teacups, pictures...the possibilities are endless.

Amongst the gardens,
amongst the trees
I feel at rest,
I feel at ease.

I hope you have a wonderful day...

Padma Jewelry

This collection of simplistic and elegant jewelry caught my attention instantly. I fell in love with the details as well as the story behind the line. The colors are so rich, especially in photo 01. The model is perfect (I think she might even be the owner and designer perhaps) / she is absolutely stunning! Can I please have her skin and hair?

Oasis en Ville

I could just pack my bags and spend the summer here, in total tranquility and sunshine. Such a nice, clutter-free space, amongst bright, cheerful furnishings and palms. The look seems so relaxed and livable. Don't you love the draped curtains that just hang like handkerchiefs? What do you think, friends? Would you like to stay here? This beautiful home was featured in one of my most favorite magazines, Côté Sud.

Ventury, Paris

Link

I came across this company this morning and my jaw dropped. I seem to be drawn to dramatic pieces, as of late. I hope you don't mind that I am posting so many!

Designed and created by Emmanuel Touraine and Vincent Cadena (in 2009), these simple yet decadent lounge chairs seem more like functional pieces of art than furniture. They seem to combine the perfect mix of retro and modern. Elegant, classy and yet very sleek, they are available in various color options and are sure to flatter your living spaces. This collection is purely haute couture for the home. They have a very exclusive looking website that is a pleasure to browse through...

Hudson Furniture

The other day, I came across Hudson Furniture when I was flipping through this month's Elle Decor magazine. I couldn't believe my eyes! Beyond their dramatic aesthetic appeal, the product line is built with purpose and peace of mind. I was delighted to learn that they respect the natural forms of trees and inherent grain of wood with well defined organic lines and geometric forms using traditional joinery techniques and hand rubbed oil finishes.

"All Hudson furniture is available in custom dimensions, custom finishes and a variety of wood species such as Claro Walnut, Black Walnut, Myrtle, Jasmine, Acacia, Satinwood and Ebonized Pine. None of the woods we use are harvested from old growth forests. Their wood slabs are domestically sourced from either salvaged trees or wind/storm damaged trees. The trees have an average life span of 250-300 years.

Hudson Furniture Inc. is also New York's only repository for legally harvested petrified wood. For Hudson Furniture Inc. it was second nature to explore petrified wood as an extension of its already existing collection of organic contemporary designs. Petrified wood, having the visual characteristics of wood but the feel of stone, represents a contemporary fusion of the two original materials into a new compelling organic interior accessory." Now that's beauty and innovation! Beyond the furniture, I find their chandelier collection to be unique and incredible! It's official, think I'm in love.

Chic Kitchen

I hope you are having a lovely weekend, friends. Happy 4th of July to all my friends who will be celebrating today! What are you doing to celebrate?

I apologize, as posts will be a little scarce until Tuesday, as my weekend is packed full of work. My mind is cluttered with ideas! When that happens, I seek a clean slate, or something neutral to ease my mind and my eyes. When I came across this kitchen yesterday, I fell in love with it. Not just because it looks so refreshing and neutral, but because of those chic windows and the pretty, aqua backsplash. It looks like it exists in a house in Florida, perhaps. What do you think? Do you like it?

The Hermès Orange

The Hermès orange is so classic and iconic, no? When I get married, (this is such a dream) I would love a single, classic item such as their lap blanket or key holder. Their pieces are a little beyond my current budget, but I certainly admire them and pop into their stores whenever I can. They are the epitome of sophistication. Despite that, they have quite a fun site! They use playful illustrations, such as the ones shown above, amongst the products, to demonstrate a lighthearted, airy feel. Have you seen their bike before? Isn't it too cute?

The orange is wonderful and I never tire of it. It's such a punchy and cheerful color, and looks divine in the home as an accent color I think my favorite is combined with grays and whites, or even with a very soft, robin's egg blue. What do you prefer?

White Living

Sometimes, a single refreshing and serene white room is nice. This look may not be for everyone, but I do admit, done correctly, a white room can be quite beautiful. There are a few key elements to decorating successfully with white. When sticking to one color, it's best to play with a mix of texturesusing leather, glass, matte, gloss, metal, wood, etc. Don't be afraid to create layers within a room. Adding texture and depth adds interest. A great example of this is shown in image 04. Don't you love the barrel ceiling featured in the bathroom in image 06? Do you have any secrets to decorating with white?
